Are you an experienced Systems Accountant with a passion for finance systems and a track record in implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central? Ready to take on a rewarding challenge where you’ll play a pivotal role in driving our organisation’s system transformation?
We want you to join our team for a 6-month contract.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment where you’ll be exposed to complex projects and play an integral part in optimising financial processes across multiple systems. This is a 6-month, full-time contract position based in our Belmont Office.

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Systems Accountant, you’ll lead the way in ensuring smooth integration, system migration, and process optimisation while helping the organisation transition to a more efficient finance function.
System Integration & Process Optimisation:

  • Bridge the gaps between multiple financial systems to ensure data flows seamlessly.
    • HCM to Finance System integration, automating processes like payroll journals, leave entitlement spreadsheets, and wage cost reporting.
    • CRM to Finance System integration, ensuring accurate and synchronised client master data.
  • Collaborate with Finance team to automate month end spreadsheets and processes.
  • Collaborate with IT to achieve integration success.

Data Migration:

  • Play a key role in the migration of data from legacy systems to the new Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central system, ensuring that data is mapped, transformed, and migrated accurately.
  • Key team member in testing and validation efforts to ensure data quality, compliance with accounting standards, and that the new system functions as expected.

Implementing Best Practices and Financial Controls:

  • Enhance internal controls as directed by Head of Financial Control, ensuring compliance with AASB standards, tax regulations, and audit requirements. For example, you’ll implement approval workflows in accordance with the Delegation of Authority (DOA), and work with relevant stakeholders to ensure the system meets the evolving needs of the organisation.
  • Focus on user access controls, segregation of duties, and safeguarding financial processes like vendor payment approvals.

Documentation and Training:

  • Create clear process documentation for the upgraded finance system and its integrations, ensuring transparency and adherence to internal controls.
  • Assist in creating training videos and best practice resources to empower your colleagues and enable staff to embrace the new system and maximize its effectiveness.

What can you bring to the team?

  • Professional accounting qualification such as CPA or CA or Bachelor’s degree in Finance.
  • Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages.
  • Four or more years’ experience as an Accountant.
  • Strong financial reporting, budgeting and tax experience.

  • Proven Experience: You have a solid background in implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including at least one full-cycle implementation.
  • Accounting Expertise: A strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and operational accounting is key, along with the ability to align financial systems with best practices and accounting standards.
  • Technical Savvy: You’re familiar with data migration, system testing, and user training in an ERP system environment. You can confidently manage system integrations and streamline processes.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: You thrive on solving complex problems, optimising workflows, and ensuring that financial systems are running as efficiently and accurately as possible.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: You know how to collaborate across teams and levels within the organisation, ensuring smooth communication during system upgrades and process changes.
  • Change Champion: You’re passionate about change management and will actively participate in creating best practice resources and training materials to empower your colleagues during the transition.
  • Multitasking Ability: You can juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
