Brief Call: Our process typically begins with a brief virtual/phone conversation to get to know you! The objective? Learn about you, understand your motivations, and make sure we have the right job for you!
Interviews (the average number of interviews is 3 - the number may vary depending on the level of seniority required for the position). During the interviews, you will meet people from our team: your line manager of course, but also other people related to your future role. We will talk in depth about you, your experience, and skills, but also about the position and what will be expected of you. Of course, you will also get to know Amaris: our culture, our roots, our teams, and your career opportunities!
Case study: Depending on the position, we may ask you to take a test. This could be a role play, a technical assessment, a problem-solving scenario, etc.

Job Description
Mission Description:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Analytical Development Scientist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for studying nanoparticulate and colloidal systems, including nanocrystalline suspensions, oligonucleotides, (hydro)gels, micellar and self-emulsifying drug delivery systems (SMEDDS), liposomes, and more. You will utilize state-of-the-art analytical technologies and collaborate closely with CMC and drug product development teams to design optimal products and processes that align with therapeutic product profiles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth studies of nanoparticulate and colloidal systems using advanced analytical techniques.
- Develop expertise in analytical development for colloidal systems, designing, leading, and performing experiments.
- Apply cutting-edge scientific methods to address challenges and deliver impactful results.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of researchers, demonstrating a willingness to learn and explore new techniques.
- Act swiftly to provide expertise and solutions for investigations related to commercial products.
- Develop test procedures and compose scientific and investigation reports.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, GMP, and safety standards.
- Stay current with scientific literature and advancements in the field.
- Initiate and maintain collaborations with external partners and universities.
- Contribute to investment plans aimed at consolidating and expanding capabilities.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Education: PhD in Chemical (Bio)Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, or equivalent experience in a relevant area.
- Experience: Expertise in state-of-the-art analytical techniques for studying nanoparticulate and colloidal systems, including scattering techniques (DLS, SAXS, (SEC)-MALS), zeta potential, (electron) microscopy, sedimentation, turbidity technologies, rheology, and flow imaging.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of colloidal stability and the factors influencing it, along with experience in preparing dispersions and tailoring their stability.
- Skills: Excellent project management and communication skills (oral and written) for effective interaction across all organizational levels.
- Teamwork: A collaborative team player capable of working in matrix teams.
- Language: Fluent in English (both spoken and written).
