We are looking for an Industrialization Engineer to strengthen the Tools and Process Engineering Team. As Industrialization Engineer you will play a critical role in the transition of new products from development into mass production. From the start of the project, you will be part of a project team to follow the introduction of new products (NPI), setting up and optimizing manufacturing processes, define and develop tools/machines that are required to produce the new products. The role requires a hands-on approach, a deep understanding of the manufacturing processes and the ability to work cross-functionally with designers, quality engineers, line supervisors, production operators, supply chain, ….
Key Responsibilities
New Product Introduction (NPI):
Collaborate with design engineering teams (worldwide) to ensure that new product designs are manufacturable at scale.
Perform design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for (automated) assembly (DFA/DFAA) analysis on new products and processes to ensure the design is fit for mass production
Follow up alfa, beta and zero series
Monitor production runs to identify and resolve any issues that may affect product quality or schedule adherence.
Work closely with quality team and production team to ensure that all products meet required standards before moving to full-scale production.
Create draft work instructions.
Develop and deliver training for operators on new processes, equipment and products.
Ensure training of repair technicians and maintenance team.
Process and tool development:
Design, develop and implement new manufacturing processes to produce new products.
Define, develop, order, build and install assembly tools and/or machines/test systems
Maintain detailed documentation of all processes/tools, changes and improvements.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and company policies.
Create/define maintenance, calibration and process control instructions for the developed tools and processes
Continuous Improvement:
Continuously improve existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, improve product quality and reduce cost.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
Provide ongoing support to production teams (typically 2nd level) to troubleshoot issues and ensure process adherence.
Working conditions
You will have a variety of tools & methodologies at your disposal: Creo, 3D printers, proto-workshop, worldwide suppliers. You will be part of a team of young and more seasoned engineers who will support you to get you up to speed as soon as possible.
Your profile
You have a master’s degree in engineering or equivalent by experience
Relevant experience in mechanical design and production processes
You have knowledge of:
Creo, or similar CAD software package
Experience in machine & product design
You gain energy from creating and implementing creative and innovative solutions
You can handle multiple tasks/projects in parallel, sometimes changing in priorities
You are positive, assertive and you have a “can do” mentality
You always challenge the status quo
You communicate fluently, both written and spoken, in English and Dutch
