Join our Legal Division at Euroclear and become a key member of the Euroclear Bank Core legal team. You will provide essential legal support to Euroclear Bank, ensuring compliance and excellence in our operations and services.
Role & Responsibilities
As a Legal Advisor, you will offer expert legal advice on a wide range of matters, focusing on Euroclear Bank's global custody services, new issuances, fund services, and asset servicing. You will collaborate closely with internal clients and fellow lawyers, contributing to a dynamic and diverse team in an international environment.
You will support and advise Euroclear Bank on a wide range of matters to ensure its activities run in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements. You will manage and support key corporate initiatives in close collaboration with internal clients and other lawyers. You will provide legal advice and support on a wide range of matters, including regulatory issues and will support the further development of services provided by Euroclear Bank.
Your Responsibilities
- Offer general legal support to Euroclear Bank on a variety of matters relevant, such as, client onboarding, claims handling, escalations, incidents, and foreign law and multi-jurisdictional matters pertaining to our cross-border activities.
- Provide comprehensive advice on applicable laws and regulations (e.g. CSDR, CPMI-IOSCO, RD n° 62, MiFID II, UCITS, AIFMD) and foreign law, covering topics such as asset protection, securities laws, investment funds, and capital market regulations.
- Support the creation and enhancement of Euroclear Bank’s services, from conceptualization to continuous evolution
- Draft and negotiate contracts with counterparts and clients, such as custody and cash correspondent agreements, agreements with local central securities depositories or other financial service providers.
- Collaborate with other lawyers within the Legal Division on relevant matters for the Euroclear Group.
- Develop and deliver training and guidance on legal matters to Euroclear staff.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
- European master’s degree in law.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in the funds industry or capital markets, gained in a financial institution’s in-house legal division or a law firm.
- Prior knowledge of the financial industry and market practices.
- Fluency in English.
