Manager Clinical Operations (Europe-based, remote or hybrid 0,8-1,0 FTE))

Julius Clinical is growing across Europe!
To support this expansion, we are looking for a Manager Clinical Operations (MCO) to strengthen and lead part of our European ClinOps team. In this role, you will oversee a dedicated team of Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) and Clinical Team Leads (CTLs) located in the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Spain, and the UK.
You will report directly to the Director of Clinical Operations (Netherlands) and can be based either hybrid from the Netherlands or remotely from anywhere in Europe.
Your Role
As MCO, you will be a key driver of performance, team development, and operational excellence. You’ll be responsible for the recruitment, growth, and management of team members, ensuring effective project delivery through strong, supportive line management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating activities of the CRA/CTL team and allocating resources based on capacity and project needs
- Monitoring workload balance and addressing team challenges proactively
- Creating a positive, results-oriented team culture through open and effective communication
- Supporting departmental budget control and contributing to financial oversight
- Line management responsibilities: setting goals, performance evaluations, coaching, and feedback
- Collaborating with HR to recruit and retain talent aligned with company objectives
- Ensuring cross-functional alignment and effective collaboration across project and functional teams
- Overseeing training and professional development in line with company and role-specific needs
- Driving process improvements in operations, reporting, and implementation of updated regulations
Your Profile
- Extensive experience in clinical research (e.g. monitoring or related roles) with a strong understanding of clinical trial processes
- Previous experience in line management, ideally in a project or team leadership setting
- Up-to-date knowledge of drug development processes, legislation and regulations such as GCP, ICH etc
- Strong communicator with excellent English skills (written and verbal)
- Proven ability to motivate and lead a team effectively
- Personable, trustworthy, and skilled at building collaborative relationships
