Your Main Responsibilities:

As a Senior General Accountant, you will be partly in charge of the accounting functions. You will work closely with the Accounting Director and participate in ensuring the reliability and transparency of financial statements.

• Handle a significant portion of the accounting, including managing the general ledger from A to Z, daily entries, monthly, and annual closings.
• Produce financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, notes) in compliance with Belgian (BEGAAP) and international accounting standards.
• Strong knowledge of VAT declarations for multiple group entities, assist in preparing corporate tax (ISOC) declarations, and monitor regular tax-related matters.
• Monitor and justify accounts by doing financial analysis
• Implement and follow up on accounting and internal control procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Manage fixed assets, depreciation, and revaluations.
• Respond to auditor inquiries and support where needed
• Handle and monitor ongoing orders.

Your Profile :

• At least 5 years of experience as a General Accountant managing the full accounting cycle in a company, ideally in an international environment.
• Proficient in SAP software.
• Solid knowledge of Belgian accounting standards (BEGAAP), as well as Belgian tax regulations (VAT, ISOC).
• Fluent in both French and English, written and spoken. Dutch is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent critical thinking, rigorous and precise, able to make relevant recommendations based on accounting data.
• Comfortable collaborating with other departments (Management Control, Legal, Purchasing, Logistics, etc.) to provide accurate and reliable information.
