Responsibilities
Within the Legal Department of Societe Generale Luxembourg, the candidate will be attached to the Investment Management department and will participate in the handling of files and questions from the Private Banking
Given the diversity of Societe Generale Luxembourg's activities, the candidate must be able to address a variety of issues with interlocutors from different business lines and support functions. Training (and possibly experience) in banking law, Investment law, management companies regulation or a specialization in new technology law are an asset.
With good interpersonal skills and excellent organizational skills, he/she must be able to have a global approach to banking legal issues and propose appropriate solutions. Given the international environment, a good command of writing and negotiation in English is essential. Any other language proficiency is considered an asset.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Answering any legal questions or problems arising in the Private Banking and Commercial Banking business lines (account relationships, loans, securities, investment advice, discretionary management, asset structuring, business transfers, insurance brokerage, inheritance)
- Assist the asset management subsidiary (SGPWM) in resolving legal issues
- Assist the insurance brokerage subsidiary (SGLIB) in resolving legal issues
- Mastering the relevant Luxembourg law
- Drafting and reviewing financing contracts (for individuals and businesses) and related security interests
- Negotiate contracts for services rendered by the relevant BU
- Drafting and reviewing various service, escrow and trust agreements, etc.

Profile required
PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:
- Graduate with a Master’s degree from a Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Business Law/ Financial Law
- A previous experience in financial law would be appreciated

The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Luxemburg is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.
In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
