Accounting Associate - 6 month contract

Base salary CAD$40,500 – CAD$50,500* per annum

What you will be doing:

The Accounting Associate obtains financial data for input, invoice processing and maintenance of accounting records. Accounting Associates apply generally accepted accounting principles to read and interpret documents, communicate effectively with team members, and solve problems dealing with a variety of variables. The key responsibilities for this role:

• Prepare and send accurate client invoices and reports using internal accountings systems
• Reconcile accounts receivable and support accounts receivable collections
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies and inquires in a timely manner
• Client deposit reconciliations
• Support internal meetings, representing Finance Operations
• Support payment functions including Direct Deposit input and Cheque Issuance
• Support tax slip issuance and related inquiries
• Various other Accounting/Finance related Functions as requested

What you’ll bring to this role:

• Completed post-secondary diploma or degree. In the field of Accounting, Finance or Business would be considered a benefit.
• Previous experience as an Accounting Associate, Accounts Receivable Specialist or Accounts Payable Specialist background
• Exceptional knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Outstanding organizational and follow-thru skills
• Fast learner, detail oriented, efficient working style and ability to work independently
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure and very tight deadlines
• Excellent analytical, thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
