Position Overview

Reporting to the Locates Supervisor, the Utility and Private Utility Locator will be responsible for performing utility locates for gas, electricity, telecommunications, water and sewers. Please note that this position is unionized, therefore it will be a requirement to join the union upon acceptance.
The Utility Locator (Damage Prevention Technician) role is a full-time construction service position within Aecon Utilities. Aecon welcomes both experienced and inexperienced applicants. Aecon provides extensive training to inexperienced workers looking to get into the locating role/industry. Aecon locators must join the union (LiUNA) and Locator hourly pay rates (in the GTA) start at $28 and progress, based on experience, up to $41 per hour.
Reporting to the Locates Superintendent, the Utility Locator/Damage Prevention Technician will be responsible for performing locates of gas, electricity, telecommunications, water, storm sewer and sanitary sewer infrastructure.
