Duties and Responsibilities
- Support Maintain and manage facility’s SDS, first aid kits, Biomedical Program and Emergency Response Plan.
- Manage and enforce Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
- Participate as a member of the JHSC.
- Provide safety and awareness training to employees, as well as maintain regular safety/communication meetings for employees.
- Report directly to Facility Manager any defects, safety and/or compliance issues.
- Investigate and preparation of any incidents or complaints reports.
- Coordination of special projects and programs (i.e. ECA sampling and testing; equipment purchases).
- Responsible for contracting and scheduling of necessary contractors (electrical, instrument, welding/fabrication etc).
- Work with company logistics and arrange transportation for outgoing wastes and supplies.
- Conduct regular reviews of supplies and equipment sourcing to ensure optimum quality and price.
- Enter supplies orders into tracking system, place order, and verify reception of ordered material prior to storing.
- Assist with the preparation, management (planning, organizing, review of results) and reporting of compliance testing and facility annual reports.
- Assist and collaborate with other staff with respect to
- Maximize operational harmony, productivity & efficiency that will ultimately better serve clients.
- Contribute to good community relations through participation and promotion (i.e. Public Liaison Committee, site visits, open houses etc.).
- Eventually act as liaison between the MECP and Company, as an alternate to the Operations Manager.
- Maintain and update facility IT systems.
- Perform site inspections (daily or weekend) as needed.
- Use the material tracking system to enter receptions & shipments information, to check processing log and/or correct inventory (quantity, location, description etc.).
- Monitoring and enforcing Compliance Policies and Procedures.
- Obtain all necessary training to carry out your duties effectively and properly.
- Comply with legal requirements and internal company policies and procedures
- Maintain a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and other employees
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Post secondary education in a related field an asset
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Bilingualism a strong asset
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Windows based environments
- Self-motivated and team player
- Experience in process control and optimization is considered an asset
