We are seeking a seasoned Scrum Master with a strong background in Agile methodologies, and digital applications development, particularly within the aviation or airline industry. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Scrum, SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), as well as proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps. The Scrum Master will report to the Manager, Digital Development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach multiple Agile teams working on digital applications development projects in cloud technologies, providing guidance on Agile methodologies, best practices, and industry-specific requirements.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives) and ensure adherence to Agile principles and practices.
  • Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and development teams to define project scope, prioritize backlog items, and ensure alignment with business objectives and industry-specific standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Architecture, DevOps, QA, and infrastructure teams, to ensure seamless integration of cloud technologies and Agile practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Identify and mitigate impediments and risks specific to agile projects, proactively addressing challenges to keep projects on track and deliver value incrementally.
  • Drive continuous improvement within Agile teams, identifying opportunities to optimize processes, streamline workflows, and enhance delivery capabilities through the effective use of Agile methodologies.
  • Mentor and train team members on Agile practices, and industry-specific best practices, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies within the aviation or airline sector, sharing knowledge and insights to drive innovation and enhance delivery capabilities in alignment with industry-specific challenges and opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar Agile certification required; SAFe certification preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in the aviation or airline industry, with a deep understanding of industry-specific challenges, regulations, and standards.
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum, SAFe, and Agile principles, with a deep understanding of SDLC concepts and best practices within the context of digital applications development projects.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps, including configuring workflows, managing backlogs, and generating reports.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS or Azure, and a demonstrated ability to leverage cloud-native solutions to enhance the scalability, reliability, and performance of digital applications in the aviation or airline sector.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including regulatory bodies and industry partners.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities, with a focus on driving consensus and finding creative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills, with a passion for coaching teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement tailored to the specific needs of aviation or airline projects.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a proactive and results-driven approach to achieving organizational goals.
