About the Role:
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Store Manager would be required to have a thorough understanding of the industry, practical business fundamentals, and inventory management practices. This is a high-profile position with regular contact with the public, deals with complex customer service issues (Such as shoplifters, etc.) that often require mediation, diffusion, and correction with the ultimate goal meeting or exceeding the needs of the customer.
The Store Manager guides other leaders to inspire top performance from their teams by providing leadership and direction to create a high-performing work environment that maximizes sales, controls costs through effective resource planning and inventory control and maintains a high level of customer centric focus.
The Store Manager seeks solutions and results that improve processes and surpass standards to drive the business in the BC Liquor Store. This position fosters growth amongst staff by providing coaching and encouragement with clear communications and builds success for the business by encouraging team members to consistently provide exceptional customer service and drive results.
As the Store Manager, you will:
· Lead a team of Assistant Manager, Store Supervisors, and Full Time and Part Time employees in delivering service standard and behaviors for exceptional customer service. Deliver service excellence to the public by ensuring the retail environment and merchandising practices meet and surpass standards to drive the business and promotes the LDB BC Liquor Stores through unparalleled customer service.
· Be accountable for store financial performance, meeting or exceeding sales targets while controlling expenditures by leading and motivating team members to achieve operational targets and maximize sales revenue.
· Drive the business through actively monitoring and prioritizing KPI’s, focusing on the performance development of the Assistant Manager, Supervisor, and Front-Line Staff, and the execution of the BCL service standards.
· Be responsible for inventory management.
· Hire, onboard, train and develop all team members, including the store supervisor.
· Implement visual presentation plans and standards with daily visual merchandising walk-throughs with key staff members.
· Lead Labor Relations matter in the store, monitor occupational health and safety of staff, and manage absenteeism.
· Complete other duties as operationally required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
· Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate.
· A minimum of 1 year of recent* experience as an Assistant Manager or Supervisor of a customer-facing, service environment.
· Experience must include direct accountability for achieving and driving sales.
Preference may be given to those candidates with any of the following:
· Experience working in a retail or hospitality environment.
· Experience in an environment with annual sales in excess of $1 million.
· Experience with KPIs and visual presentation standards.
· Degree, diploma or certificate in business or retail management OR successful completion of a supervisory/leadership course.
*Recent experience is defined as occurring within the past 5 years. Experience must be in a confirmed position and not in a relief capacity.
Compensation and Benefits Package:
The salary range for this role is $64,123.59 - $72,674.35 per annum.
