This is a Temporary 18 Month, Full Time opportunity

Expected Salary Range: $70,177.00 - $87,722.00 - $109,652.00

Our typical hiring range will be /- 10% of the midpoint shown above

Job Summary:


The Specialist, Content Marketing is an essential role within our cross-functional marketing team, focusing on developing data-driven content marketing strategies and an editorial approach that supports our larger marketing objectives and helps acquire, develop, and retain players. In this role, you’ll lead all elements of the content marketing lifecycle (from research and insights, to ideation, development, distribution and measurement) for your designated line of business.


Working as part of the content marketing capability team, you’ll support the overarching content marketing plan, whilst leading content activity for your individual portfolio, with clear objectives in place. You’ll contribute to wider content and marketing team ideation sessions, facilitate cross-team content planning sessions, develop and deliver content roadmaps and have oversight of content activity across all owned channels and digital touchpoints.


As you deliver your content marketing plans, you will collaborate closely with a team of promotions, brand & advertising, social media, media advertising, CRM and experiential marketing specialists to bring to life integrated marketing campaigns that deliver business results.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Takes an editorial approach to develop a Content Marketing plan (related to the brand portfolio) to support overarching business, marketing and player strategy objectives. Contributes to the development of the overall content marketing strategy in collaboration with the Content Marketing team and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with overall marketing and business strategies.
  • Manages the editorial process including regular editorial meetings, content management process and organization workflows for the assigned portfolio. Collaborates, ideates and supports the Content team, through editorial meetings to develop cross-functional content opportunities, prioritization and enterprise messaging.
  • Manages the creation and development of content to maximize player relevance and engagement across a multitude of digital touchpoints including web, social and digital signage in bricks and mortar. Ensures marketing content within owned communications channels aligns with the overall Player Experience strategy. Liaises with UX, Brand and Advertising and Player Experience to create and manage landing pages on BCLC’s websites to support various player experiences.
  • Provides copywriting and content creation support across content touchpoints, translating brand and product strategies into informative copy and engaging stories that educate players about BCLC and it’s suite of products. Provides editorial governance and support, so content is consistent with the brand voice, style and tone.
  • Manages the content management system and disseminates content via owned channels e.g. websites, digital signage, apps etc. ensuring the right content is served to the right players in the right channel at the right time.
  • Monitors and reports on content effectiveness, to develop new ways to optimize and test for future campaigns. Ensures all content is delivered on time and on budget and adheres to the correct advertising standards and guidelines.
  • Proactively builds, develops, and maintains strong working relationships with internal departments, business partners, suppliers, regulatory and government bodies.


Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience

  • Degree or diploma in digital marketing, journalism or a related business discipline;
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in content marketing, journalism, digital marketing, copywriting or a related discipline;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Technical Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of strategic content marketing plans;
  • Solid knowledge of principles, concepts, practices, techniques and tools in the areas of content creation and content management;
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics;
  • Solid knowledge of content marketing and brand storytelling across multiple mediums;
  • Strong marketing communications skills and ability to deliver integrated marketing campaigns;
  • Excellent innovation in problem solving and demonstrated analytical thinking;
  • Proven leadership and/or teamwork skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent presentation skills;
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and multi-task with close attention to detail;
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite);
  • Understanding of B.C. gaming industry would be an asset.
