Personal Support Worker (PSW)
We are seeking a full-time PSW to join our team at Birmingham Retirement Community. This position is temporary with the possibility of becoming a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain resident records and required documentation in accordance with policies and procedures and legislative requirements.
Administer medications as prescribed and observe and report changes in condition to Director of Wellness.
Provide guidance to Guest Attendants to ensure that care assignments are completed.
Maintain a clean, safe environment for residents utilizing infection control principles.
Respond to resident call bells and door alarms promptly and provide courteous service.
Complete all aspects of resident care as outlined in the plan of care and care assignment.
Complete narcotic count at beginning and end of shift.
Monitor and record resident weights and vitals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
Successful completion of Personal Support Worker certificate program.
Successful completion of Medication Administration training program provided on site and successful ongoing quarterly evaluation of competencies.
Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
Current First Aid & CPR training.
Previous experience with medication administration an asset but not required. Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process.
