Security System Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Security Technician to join our team. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential security risks and implementing effective measures to mitigate them. The Senior Security Technician will work closely with various departments to maintain a secure environment while utilizing advanced security technologies.

Job Summary

- Design and implement security systems including CCTV, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and access control systems.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate security measures.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to build and maintain security infrastructure using computer hardware and low voltage systems.
- Create and interpret schematics for security installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for installation and maintenance tasks.
- Provide technical support for security equipment, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Stay updated on the latest security technologies and trends to enhance system performance.
- Telecommunicate with team members to coordinate projects and resolve any operational challenges.
- To attend emergency service as required, {When on paid call rotation 1 week per month}.

- To be able to work 8:30am to 5pm (30 min lunch, must be taken)

Qualifications and Skills

- Proven experience in security engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using tools for installation and maintenance of security systems.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems, IDS, low voltage wiring, and other electronic security technologies.
- Ability to read and understand technical schematics related to security installations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an emphasis on attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.

- Must have current BC driver’s license.

- Work in a safe and professional manner when representing Black Tusk Fire and Security Inc.

Wage

- Negotiable by experience.
