We are currently hiring a scene planner. A scene planner is responsible for reviewing the leica for each episode and creating/building all the scenes in an episode to prepare them for animation. It is the scene planner’s job to create scenes based off the leica so that animators can easily do animation within them.

  • Key Responsibilities

    What you are regularly responsible for doing:

  • Producing scene planned quot/a up to the expectations of the Scene Plan Supervisor and Director.

  • Assessing the Leica Reel/Storyboards, Director launch notes and bringing technical and creative ideas and solutions to further elevate the show.

  • Assembling leica reels, backgrounds, props and assets into scene.

  • Creating well composed shots using field guides, camera moves and properly scaled assets to appropriate scene length.

  • Setting up scenes that further inform and make it easier for animation, fx and compositing to function.

  • Tracking episode progress to maintain schedule and communicating with Supervisor or Production regarding any issues.

  • Revising scene planned output based on feedback.

  • Collaborating with Background, Assets, Animation and Production regarding any creative or technical challenges (continuity, missing assets, scene discrepancies, rig challenges, etc.)

  • Key Requirements

    Things that help you do your job (what is essential and what is desirable)

  • Knowledge:

  • o Strong understanding of 2D program tools and composition.
    o Considerable appreciation of how 2D software applications are applied to animation production.

  • Experience:

  • o Experience on long-form Film/TV animation productions (desirable).
    o Experience with asset tracking systems & workflow management software (e.g., Shotgrid).

  • Technical skills:

  • o Forecasting workflow.
    o Knowledge and experience with Toon Boom Harmony
    o Skills in rigging and/or animation (desirable).

    Portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of styles, (incorporating understanding of graphic, illustrative and comic book art favorable).
