The Manager, Marketing will lead their direct team and support the broader Marketing team in all facets of creation and distribution of advertising and collaterals across various marketing/sales campaigns and initiatives. Working closely with Website, Sales, Digital Solutions and Communications teams, this role will assume execution leadership for all marketing tactics.
In this role, you'll be pivotal in driving marketing planning and execution, managing deadlines and progress towards goals, and overseeing budget management. With your keen eye for detail, you'll ensure brand voice consistency while contributing to, or leading campaign creative concept development and copywriting/editing. As a project leader, you'll spearhead departmental initiatives, manage email journey coordination, and track compliance metrics. Additionally, you'll establish, monitor, and report on departmental KPIs, all while fostering strong collaboration with marketing team members and cross-functional contacts. In the role of Manager, Marketing, you will:
- Be responsible for the leadership of direct reports, including fostering the growth and development of team members and team member performance.
- Work with Vice-President, Marketing as a contributor to development of Marketing strategies, and take responsibility for Marketing planning/execution and budget management.
- Contribute to the development of brand guidelines and style guides and take ownership of brand-voice management across all marketing mediums and assets.
- Contribute to or lead campaigns, including creative concept development and content marketing that will be executed across all media and channels as well as developing and launching internal sales contests/incentives that align with campaign/growth objectives.
- Act as lead copywriter/editor for all marketing media (campaigns, scripts, ads, collaterals, web, email), in some cases reviewing/copy-editing writing of direct reports or other team members (social media, blog, marketing communications).
- Be the lead resource for all business lines with respect to automated marketing, gathering business requirements and providing guidance and expertise, and ensuring appropriate prioritization of initiatives based on value and impact to the organization.
- Work with Digital Solutions team to write, design, build, manage and optimize innovative automated one-time sends and journeys that leverage behaviour-based triggers to develop personalized experiences.
- Be responsible for the planning of, and overseeing coordination, of all marketing collateral for the Marketing team, including outdoor, radio, print, web, digital, etc. and ensuring that they are correctly produced, trafficked, and published.
- Be working with the Digital Marketing & Analytics Specialist, to assess performance of digital marketing strategy in alignment with defined objectives, identify/present VP, Marketing with opportunities for additional tactics to support achievement of defined objectives and/or propose additional objectives for consideration.
- Support the planning, coordination and execution of website and social media campaigns and initiatives, as required.
- Assist the Marketing and UX/UI team members with ideation, social proof, and research techniques, including interviews, surveys, reviews or focus group sessions to drive campaigns and designs.
- Review and in some cases approve design artifacts such as annotated wireframes, visual design components, storyboards, and interactive prototypes as necessary to communicate designs to users, stakeholders, and teammates.
- Contribute to the planning and coordination of ongoing enhancements to the website’s function, features, content, and performance.
- Set, monitor and regularly report on departmental KPI tracking to align activities with goals.
Your Education & Experience:
- A combination of post-secondary education in a related discipline and 5 years experience in marketing.
- Experience as a people-leader and leading Marketing Teams a strong asset.
- Overall digital literacy and technical aptitude, including familiarity with email marketing technology/best practices and experience in content marketing, social media, digital marketing, and product marketing.
- Familiarity with marketing and communications theory and practice.
- Familiarity with user-centric design principles
- Creative thinker, with a member-centered approach and strong drive to continuously improve and add value to the business.
- Collaborative problem solver with ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, peers and end-users.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis towards confidentiality, critical thinking and research analytics.
- Ability to work well in a diverse environment with multiple and often changing priorities.
- Ability to multitask and efficiently manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail.
Additional Assets include:
- Focused experience in social media, communications or other marketing-related disciplines considered an asset.
- Experience in financial services or a related field.
- Familiarity with marketing technology programs, such as website content management systems, social listening/management tools, or customer relationship management platforms considered an asset.
