The Opportunity
We have a full-time position available for Peer Outreach Workers to work on our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) within CMHA’s Housing and Community Supports (CHS). Our housing program includes all three levels of Housing First, including Assertive community Treatment, Intensive Case Management, and Rapid Re-housing. The ACT Team is a client-centred, recovery-focused mental health service for people with serious, persistent, and complex mental health illness, addiction, and trauma needs.
The Position
Collaborating with participants and the ACT Team, the peer outreach worker employs Housing First, Harm Reduction, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation models to help clients choose, get, and keep housing of their choice in the community. The worker conducts outreach, builds relationships, provides emotional support, connects individuals to resources, teaches life skills, aids in recovery plans, and contributes to the rehabilitation process by acting as a liaison between participant and environment.
The hourly rate for this position falls within Band 3 of the Collective Agreement, ranging from $21.97 to $27.65 per hour, based on a 35-hour workweek. Hours may be adjusted to include evenings and weekends when necessary.
