What you’ll do The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Automotive Operations will be a key leader within the Canadian Tire organization, responsible for overseeing corporate support for the automotive operations team at Canadian Tire. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to drive operational excellence, enhance customer experience, and ensure the profitability and growth of the automotive sector. Strong collaboration with our key Dealer partners is a key driver to success in this portfolio requiring a demonstrated ability to work towards common goals and outcomes. Key Responsibilities · Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth and profitability in the automotive operations division. · Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the automotive operations team, ensuring efficient processes and practices are in place. · Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of automotive professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. · Customer Experience: Enhance the customer experience by ensuring high standards of service and satisfaction in all automotive service areas. · Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics, ensuring the automotive division meets or exceeds financial targets. · Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and partners to ensure quality products and services. · Innovation and Improvement: Identify and implement new technologies, processes, and practices to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the customer experience. · Compliance and Safety: Ensure all automotive operations comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, with a strong focus on safety. · Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and identify new opportunities for growth and improvement. What you bring · Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Automotive Management, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred. · Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. · Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage a large team. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. · Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans and drive large-scale operational initiatives. · Financial Acumen: Strong financial management skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. · Customer Focus: Deep understanding of customer needs and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. · Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization. · Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of implementing effective solutions. · Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities. · Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the automotive industry, including trends, technologies, and best practices.
