Position Summary

The Pharmacy Operations Manager, in partnership with the Pharmacy Manager, is responsible for their team’s scheduling, onboard training, and adherence to operational processes to support the fulfillment of the team’s goals — accuracy, efficiency, quality, organization — while maintaining regulatory compliance. The Pharmacy Operations Manager embodies and reinforces CareRx’s Mission-Vision-Values commitments as a way to support a positive team culture. The Pharmacy Operations Manager participates in tasks as per the job description in collaboration with the Pharmacy Manager.

Accountabilities

  • Scheduling of applicable pharmacy operations and shipping and receiving staff members
  • Inventory management as required
  • Develop and oversee training of new employees
  • Review and authorize invoices as applicable
  • Document payroll and human resource related items as applicable
  • Completing accountability agreements for applicable pharmacy operations staff
  • Interviewing potential candidates for CareRx Pharmacy employment
  • Monitor and maintain adequate staffing levels/ratios
  • Monitor and maintain efficient workflow in the pharmacy at all times including redirecting staff as required
  • Troubleshooting technical problems as they arise and contacting contractors as required
  • Problem solve and/or participate in conflict/dispute resolution as required
  • Collaborate with other management team members on a routine basis
  • Help with pharmacy operations/drug distribution when required
  • Participate in pharmacy-related transition processes as required
  • Lead the packaging and verification department:
    • Management of weekly batch schedule
    • Maintenance and repairs of all packaging and verification machines
    • Using analytics and metrics to improve efficiency of production
    • Investigation of production/correction/verification related incidents

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Registration and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (i.e. RPhT)
  • Excellent working knowledge of Kroll, automated packaging and verification machine software, Microsoft Office and all applicable eMAR platforms
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively within a team
  • Ability to be able to remain unbiased when assigning tasks and resolving disputes
  • Strong leadership, team building and delegation skills
  • Availability outside regular business hours as applicable
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills and be able to interact with persons of varying levels of professional expertise in a professional and mature manner
  • Highly organized and possess excellent time management skills
  • Skilled in critical thought processes and be able to prioritize appropriately
  • Self-directed requiring minimal supervision and responsible in the execution of job duties
  • Motivated to achieve results that reflect a high standard of quality
  • Must demonstrate good listening skills and be adaptable to changes in job environment
  • Must be adaptable to changes with internal work changes
