To add to our expertise, we are recruiting for a Health & Safety Administrator (HSA) and Office Administrator for our Corporate office in our Calgary branch. This position encompasses two part-time roles for a full-time position. The HSA role will account for 60% of the job while the Office Administrative will account for 40% of the job. As our Health & Safety Administrator and Office Administrator, you will provide comprehensive support to the National Safety Manager, Branch Manager and Director of Finance with a high level of organization, time management and confidentiality. This is a full-time temporary position with the potential to transition into a permanent position.

Responsible would include but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Supporting CEL branches Health & Safety Coordinators and National Safety Manager
  • Act as a focal point for all company HSE administration
  • Help update safety policies and procedures
  • Review Safety Documentation and provide feedback
  • Support implementation of the company HSE management initiative
  • Help with safety pre-qualifications and tracking safety certificates
  • Assist with filing and printing safety paperwork and reporting monthly HSE stats internally
  • Reporting monthly stats internally and through client programs (ISN, Avetta, etc.)
  • Key contributor in ensuring compliance with client requirements, and government legislation
  • Facilitate Health & Safety Committee meetings and monthly safety meeting agendas.
  • Perform safety orientations for new recruits
  • Support CEL Safety Coordinators with investigations as needed
  • Assist the Safety Manager with the continuous improvement of all HSE processes
  • Promote a positive safety culture throughout the company
  • Assist CEL Safety Coordinators with annual COR Audits
  • Assist in acquiring and restocking PPE
  • Support Human Resource Manager when necessary
  • Schedule Safety training
  • Assists with confidential information and record keeping fostering interaction with HR and payroll departments for refining documentation including but not limited to submit payroll and New Hire Orientation Forms
  • Support Director of Finance with Corporate tasks when necessary
  • Assist Calgary Project Manager and Site Supervisors with various duties
  • Support VP of Strategic Growth with marketing tasks when necessary
  • First point of contact for vendors, couriers, walk-ins and solicitors
  • Basic cleanliness of office and responsible for checking the mail
  • Ordering and restocking Office, Bathroom & Kitchen Supplies
  • Administration of Shipping and Receiving
  • Booking hotels/events if needed

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 1-2 years of administrative expertise and knowledge of office procedures
  • 1-2 years of safety administration in either an office setting or on-site
  • Health & Safety Administration certification or experience would be an asset
  • Having a COR Auditor certification or experience would be an asset
  • Excellent computer skills with an advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
  • Strong organizational skills, communication skills and time management that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to details
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Are a self-starter with ability to organize and multitask
  • Ability to conduct research and create reports or presentations
  • Previous experience on a construction site is an asset

Contract length: 16 months

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
