Home Support Worker - full time (nursing experience an asset)

Overview:

We are looking for a full-time caregiver to assist us with home care for our 99-year-old mother in Humber Village. Tasks will include helping with dressing, bathing, mobility, meal preparation, medications, companionship, toileting and other activities of daily living.

Our ideal candidate would:

• Be a retired nurse, or someone with health care or caregiving experience. Certifications such as first aid and CPR would be a bonus.
• Be positive, caring, discreet and people-oriented, with sensitivity to varying needs for conversation and quiet. The ability to establish and maintain a comfortable, friendly relationship will be essential.
• Be physically able to assist with all of the above tasks.
• Be team oriented, to work smoothly with other caregivers in the family
• Be thoroughly familiar with, and always follow, protocols and best practices for illness prevention, particularly of COVID-19

We are seeking full-time help but can offer considerable flexibility; specific hours of work can be negotiated in accordance with mutual convenience. Wages to be determined in accordance with qualifications.

Language: fluency in English is not essential; we welcome applications from new Canadians, provided they are able to understand basic communication relating to tasks.
