Reporting to the Director of Calgary Transit, The Executive Advisor assists the Director with day-to-day issues and management of high priority and politically sensitive situations. As a member of Calgary Transit, you will be expected to foster an inclusive leadership approach that promotes equity, diversity and inclusion, as well as psychological and physical safety. As a strategic advisor, you will possess political acumen and have experience in transformational change and enabling innovation. Primary responsibilities include:
Research, analyze, and prepare correspondence and reports on behalf of the Director and Managers.
Effectively communicate with all levels of The City, including City Council.
Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of business plans; complete critical review of reports to Council; complete select reports and projects, as identified by the business; and coordinate cross business unit activities.
Establish and maintain links within and across business units.
Organize, track and follow up on workflow from the Director's office.
Qualifications
A degree with at least 4 years of progressively more varied and responsible experience.
Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
Experience and willingness to speak with Council, citizens, and outside interest groups is essential.
Experience working with a senior management team and collaborating with other business units on technical and financial issues will be given preference.
A solid working knowledge of The City structure and its legislative processes and requirement will also be given preference.
Exceptional communication and report writing skills.
Strategic thinking with strong interpersonal, analytical and project management skills.
Ability to work independently in a complex environment with minimal supervision, an aptitude for executing a multitude of tasks in a high pressure, time sensitive environment.
Pre-employment Requirements
A security clearance will be conducted.
