As the Team Lead, Maintenance Planning you will be responsible for the development and implementation of asset management practices and programs for the City's two water treatment plants, the secondary water pump stations (40), the treated underground reservoirs (20), and the Glenmore Dam and Glenmore reservoir facility. As the Leader, you will also supervise a team of between 4-6 individuals, including 2-3 Maintenance Engineers, as well as 3 Maintenance Planners. Primary duties include:
Maintain an updated and accurate asset registry within the maintenance management system.
Ensure criticality reviews of all assets is completed and periodically reviewed and integrate risk management approach to maintenance that incorporates this asset criticality assessment.
Establish systems to determine the condition and health of assets and develop maintenance plans to optimize life of assets.
Advance work order management to ensure maintenance performance is measured and good data is captured for management decisions.
Direct predictive and preventative maintenance strategies based on criticality.
Capture and utilize cost and condition information for development of operating and capital budgets for division. Maintain accurate capital maintenance budget project information, reporting on status monthly and as needed.
Advance the technical maintenance planning team, leading, and developing staff in the use and application of these asset management principles and practices.
Qualifications
A degree in Engineering preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related Engineering field.
You must have at least 8 years of relevant professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. Designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work Click here for more details.
Experience in a plant or industrial environment with direct experience relating to maintenance programs and CMMS systems is required.
A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending.
Experience related to the maintenance and operations of Water Treatment Plants will be considered an asset.
Previous experience leading a team of professional staff will also be considered an asset.
Success in the role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated leadership ability; strong organization skills, the ability to prioritize work and have a keen attention to detail.

A security clearance will be conducted.
Must obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit.
