We currently have available a full-time Inside Maintenance position at Coast Capri Hotel. This role will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and the entire maintenance, housekeeping and front desk teams to ensure we are continually improving our room product, amenities and building safety & aesthetics. Effective communication and commitment to task are high priority skills for the Inside Maintenance role. Salary will be based on experience and relevant certifications.
Purpose of Role
The Inside Maintenance will be responsible for performing general building and property maintenance while providing superior customer service to all stakeholders of the hotel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance jobs and repairs in public areas and/or in hotel guest rooms, as required.
- Respond to requests for service by guests, employees and management to include repairs and replacement of all damaged interior fixtures and furnishings.
- Conduct pool/whirlpool maintenance inclusive of monitoring and adding chemicals when required.
- Provide exceptional customer service to guests, to ensure guest satisfaction, by clearly communicating and resolving any malfunction or challenges faced.
- Conduct preventative maintenance schedule as per Rooms Division and Hotel Management request.
- Strictly adhere to WorkSafeBC Health & Safety regulations and practices.
- Participate in troubleshooting and fixing issues, reporting deficiencies and communicating with Housekeeping and Rooms Division when completed.
- Complete adhoc needed tasks with plumbing, basic electrical, cooling & heating, fire panel, aesthetic repairs, renovation and installations.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
- 40 hours per week
- Required to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel environment
- Trade and pool operators certificate is an asset
- Must have basic working knowledge of plumbing, painting, HVAC, electrical, and/or other general repair skills
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 30 - 40lbs, frequent bending, walking and manual dexterity.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve in an efficient manner, which includes identifying, anticipating, and preventing problems, as necessary
