Position Purpose:


To assist the Human Resources team in its day to day operations.

This is a term position until end of April 2023. Please note an extension may be possible pending funding (up to 12 weeks).

This position is made available through the Canada Student Work Placement Program (SWPP).


Job Description:


  • Organize, compile and update employee records (hard & soft copies).
  • Process documentation relating to employees (recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, status changes).
  • Update internal database with new applicant information.
  • Schedule meetings within the department.
  • Assist in Onboarding of new hires.
  • Providing confidential administrative and labour relations support to the HR Team.
  • Assist our Training Manager in creating and maintaining an efficient training schedule, record attendance, and submit reports to our manager
  • Maintain records of training procedures and protocols and monitor employee attendance

Job Qualifications:

The successful candidate must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary HR or Business Program and looking to get experience working HR. The applicant must be going to school while working in this position. Ideally you will have completed the first year of the program Understanding of a unionized environment or working with a collective agreement is an asset.


Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee status has been conferred, and legally entitled to work in Canada. The candidate must clear the criminal record and vulnerable sector check.

  • 1-2 years of experience in an HR role.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools
  • Working understanding of LMS programs is an asset.
