Responsibilities


Assists in developing, writing and maintaining master schedules and transit operator shift allocations for various depots. Reviews preliminary cost estimates of revisions and additions to existing transit service and identifies problems and possible solutions to improve schedule efficiencies. Prepares various reports for review by the Transit Scheduling Work Leader. Maintains liaison with operating center personnel regarding maintenance of service levels. Participates in and provides information for Public Open Houses, Service Plans and Capital Projects, and Service Review Committee Meetings. Participates in department meetings and provides input into schedule design for new or revised routes.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:


Requires a diploma in business administration from a recognized institute of technology, including courses in statistics, mathematics, project management, business communications, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills, as well as training in the use of computers and word processing, spreadsheet and database software.


EXPERIENCE:


Requires two (2) years’ experience either working in scheduling or planning related positions, transit operations or in the depot office. Must have knowledge of the transit system, routes, service designs, and scheduling practises and procedures as well as collective agreements as they relate to the scheduling function (including Spare Board Rules). A further period of up to one (1) year in the job is required to become familiar with CMBC's policies, production of Schedules and operating practices.

Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

Work Schedule


37.5 hours per week.

Work Designation


Hybrid


This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.

Rate of Pay


Salary $5,963 - $7,160 per month (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
