We are seeking a proactive and motivated Research Assistant to join our team and support a research project on youth leadership.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Sociology, Psychology) required; Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
- Experience in qualitative research design, data collection, and analysis
- Experience in program development is highly valued
- Leadership experience is an asset
Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Deep understanding of qualitative research methods, including data analysis approaches
- Familiarity with youth development principles is highly desirable
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Strong presentation and writing skills
- Knowledge of East Asian culture is an asset
- Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills
Responsibilities:
- Conduct literature surveys on topics related to the research project
- Conduct qualitative data collection and analysis
- Communicate with related stakeholders
- Prepare the research report
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Employment Detail:
- Temporary, full-time (8-week contract)
- Number of hours per week requested: 35
- Hourly wage: $17
- Hybrid and remote work options available
Eligibility:
To be eligible, the applicant must be:
- between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
- a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act [S.C. 2001, c. 27]*; and
- legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
*International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.
