Job Posting for Leasing Specialist at Devon Properties
The Leasing Specialist will consistently deliver distinctive customer service and exceptional operational performance in order to meet defined deliverables and goals. This position has a complete understanding of Devon’s marketing and leasing strategy and performance targets and works in conjunction with the Leasing Manager to realize these objectives.

Responsibilities:
Support leasing activities including showing suites, quoting rental prices, evaluating and monitoring leasing metrics, presenting applications, and completing required documentation and reports.
Monitor all advertising, media channels, promotional programs and signage for assigned properties to ensure advertisements are up to date. Reporting any discrepancies to the Leasing Manager.
Schedule appointments for property viewings, maintain the prospective tenant database and ensure all leads are documented and responded to in a timely manner.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the properties including availability of suite types and layouts, common areas, amenities of the building(s) and the surrounding neighborhoods.
Inspect vacant suites daily to ensure they are in excellent condition for showing.
Proactively qualify residents while matching them with suites that accurately meet their needs.
Ensure a strong prospect experience from initial contact, communication, screening, to move-in day.
Take applications and ensure all information is complete and accurate.
Proactively ensure leasing targets are met by executing leasing strategies to attract desirable tenants.
Contact and follow up with prospects and applicants throughout the leasing process.
Communicate with applicants to ensure they are kept up-to-date with the status of their application.
Adhere to internal applicant screening policies.
Provide superior customer service, effectively and fairly handle requests from prospects and involve the Leasing Manager or Property Manager when necessary.
Attend weekly leasing meetings and engage as a team on opportunities to improve unit marketability and traction.
Ensure compliance with all legislation (i.e. BC Residential Tenancy Act, Fire Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and BC Real Estate Services Act).
Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in related field such as Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce or Communications is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of 1-year experience in residential property management, real estate sales or marketing, hospitality, seniors housing, or other relevant industries.
An understanding of all applicable laws, legislation and rights concerning resident-landlord relations.
Knowledge of the BC Residential Tenancy Act.
Computer proficiency, including MS Office, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat is required, and the desire and ability to learn new systems property management system.
Data analytic skills and proficiency with numbers.
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop cooperative working relationships at all levels.
Strong attention to detail, time-management, prioritizing, and multi-tasking skills.
Extremely well organized, disciplined, and able to work well in a busy team environment.
Proven customer service skills with the ability to listen to others, collaborate and resolve conflict.
Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholders, clients and other professionals.
Detail oriented with ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism.
Energetic, responsive team player with the ability to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment.
