Laboratory Technician

Position start date: September 2024

Position term: Seasonal: 8 months, with the possibility of permanent employment.

Skills:

- Accreditation from CFIA in purity and germination is an asset
- Able to stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience in analyzing samples and generating reports
- Agriculture background is an asset
- Excellent computer skills
- Able to work well with others, and great communication skills.
- Work well in a high pace environment with little supervision

Responsibilities:

- To conduct purity and germination testing according to Canadian and AOSA rules.
- To conduct REGAL and APHIS testing.
- Perform various laboratory tests
- Analyze samples and data to provide accurate results
- Be able to prioritize tasks during peak periods, and able to thrive in a fast paced, detail-oriented environment.
- Keeping large amounts of paperwork organized
- Other related laboratory duties
