Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000
Location: Prince George

As the Continuous Improvement Project Manager, you will be reporting to the Continuous Improvement Program Director and will develop and manage pellet operations enhancement & efficiency projects, evolving from concept and scope to budget and ROI, completing the project approval process.

The Continuous Improvement program mandate is to drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives across all Drax North American pellet operations, while reducing carbon intensity per metric tonne.

You will work closely with plant operations, engineering, and senior management to define opportunities. You will be directly involved in defining the scope of projects with Drax engineering teams (Process, Reliability, Automation, Capital), developing budgets and benefits to support the Capital Project approval process, and subsequent project execution.  

About You
As an ideal candidate, you would have at least 5 years manufacturing experience in plant management, process improvement and project management. You are able to build a rapport and working relationship with key stakeholders, with a collaborative and supportive approach to getting the job done. You are self motivated, confident and able to challenge and influence where required.

About the Role

  • Supporting the Successful Delivery of Projects
  • Proactively seek Continuous Improvement opportunities across our business units
  • Drive the Project Evaluation Process - defining scope, budgets, and benefits/paybacks
  • Support Leaders from across the Pellets Business in the preparation, approval, refining and updating of a Business Case that justifies the initiation and/or continuation of projects in terms of benefits and risks
  • Monitor all Project Executions - document schedules, risks/issues, and budget log for timely updates to team members
  • Organise and attend all stakeholder meetings, distributing timely outputs ranging from detailed minutes to summaries of key discussion points, decisions, and actions. Follow up on any actions to ensure completion
  • Production of meeting materials including Project Status Reports and any submissions to wider interfaces such as the Monthly Business Review/Quarterly Business Review meetings
  • Providing Visibility of the Change Portfolio
  • Working with the Continuous Improvement Program Director, identify Continuous Improvement Portfolio-level status reporting requirements for the Pellets business
  • Establish a periodic process to obtain management information from each of the Project Teams
  • Support PMO & H1 Capital Engineering Team with the required reporting cycles
