Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Technician operates laboratory equipment to perform prescribed laboratory testing procedures and document test results. They are responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the laboratory. They ensure that work is performed safety and ensure laboratory safety procedures and policies are maintained. As an employee of the company, they will always uphold the company policies and portray a professional and positive image of themselves and the company to colleagues, customers and our corporate partners.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform laboratory testing, by receiving, analyzing, storing, and documenting test results into databases.
Performs laboratory testing according to prescribed testing procedures.
Provides sample identification to samples received and their receipt into the appropriate database.
Performs instrument maintenance and calibration.
Monitors supplies and submits orders for supplies as needed for the laboratory.
Other responsibilities as required.
Education
Must have a diploma/degree in a science-based program.
Experience working in an ISO 17025 laboratory with testing equipment, chemicals and procedures.
Experience working with working with hazardous testing materials in a laboratory environment with laboratory equipment such as a microscope and fume hood.
Experience following quality control measures and test procedures and documenting information and test results.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Good computer skills, preferably in a MAC platform and good reading, writing and organizational skills.
