Position Summary


As an Educational Assistant in the Kindergarten classroom, you will assist students with a variety of needs and support them with improving communication, social interaction and behaviour while developing academic skills.



Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • supporting students in an inclusive Kindergarten classroom
  • assisting students with varied needs including academic, emotional and behavioural
  • providing one-on-one and small group support
  • assisting in the planning and modifying of curriculum to adapt to special needs of students
  • supervising students at school arrival and departure, recess, lunch and field trips
  • assisting students with personal care including toileting

Education/Qualifications
  • a two year post secondary program in a related field
  • a minimum of one year of related experience preferably in an educational environment
  • experience working with and providing interventions to students who have developmental delays and learning disabilities
  • experience supporting students who have emotional and/or behavioural challenges and physical/medical disabilities
  • proven ability to implement effective de-escalation strategies
  • excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • proven success in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
  • NVCI, First Aid

Rate of Pay


$21.09 - $26.50 per hour
