Shifts Available for In-Person Sessions:

Mondays (9am to 2pm) or (2pm-7pm)

Tuesdays (9am to 2pm) or (2pm-7pm)

Wednesdays (9am to 2pm) or (2pm-7pm)

Thursdays (9am to 2pm) or (2pm-7pm)

Fridays (9am to 2pm) or (2pm-7pm)

Weekends - if desired

First Step Men's Therapy was created in 2021 with one purpose: to create a warm, inviting space to help men develop better relationships with themselves and others.

Areas of Expertise: We work with men on a wide range of mental health concerns and specialize in: compulsive sexual behaviour, substance misuse, anger, grief, trauma & PTSD, first responders, stress and burnout, couples counselling, sexual dysfunction and anxiety, men’s issues, intimacy and relationships, and self-esteem/self-worth.

There are many different shifts available including: weekdays, weekends, morning and evening shifts that can meet your needs and preferences.

Successful candidates will have the following qualities:

• A masters degree in Counselling Psychology/Psychotherapy/Social Work and registration with CRPO (Full or Qualifying) or OCSWSSW (RSW).
• Available to work: A minimum of 5 direct client hours per day for 2-3 shifts per week (approximately 12-15 hours/week) with option for more
• Professional and Ethical practice in following all CRPO or OCSWSSW requirements
• Maintenance of own client files and required documentation (e.g., notes) following the clinic procedures
• Management of schedule and client communication
• Able to provide sessions at our Centretown location (in-person)
• Proof of Liability Insurance as required by designation

Skills & Attributes of our ideal candidate….

• Dynamic, self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently, proactively and well under pressure
• Strong communication skills, ability to communicate professionally and with compassion to clients with patience when dealing with challenging clients
• Confidence to share ideas and constructive criticism to help us grow
• Juggling multiple projects and to-do’s simultaneously is no problem for you — you work well under pressure, meet deadlines and keep promises
• Tech savvy (we use Slack and other communication tools)
• An appetite for innovation and simplicity who is highly process oriented
• Working autonomously comes easy to you but you also love collaborating with a talented team
• Considerable experience using the Microsoft Office Suite, Slack, Google Drive Suite, Gmail, Dropbox, Mac, Windows in a work environment
• Knowledge of JaneApp scheduling software is an asset but not mandatory

• ADHD
• Sex therapy
• Trauma
• Relationship Issues/Couples
• Addiction (particularly compulsive sexual behaviour) but all addiction-knowledge helpful

Pay: $102.00-$125.00 per hour
