Position Summary:

We are looking for an outgoing and spirited Event Manager to take the lead on organizing and executing both in-person and online dating events throughout Alberta. This position will start out as casual with an opportunity to become full-time in the future. As both the company and the position continue to grow, more provinces such as British Columbia and Saskatchewan will be added to the portfolio for this role.

**This is a remote position, only requiring in-person work when on-site running events. The ideal candidate will be based in Alberta**

The role can be broken down into three parts:

1.) Administration

You will tend to customer and partner queries, process ticket purchases, manage the events schedule, and frequently update the Flare website with new information.

2.) Business Development

You will take ownership of maintaining relationships with venues, identifying new partnership opportunities, and promoting upcoming events. You will build relationships within local communities and leverage them for marketing and sales purposes. You will also train new Hosts in proper event facilitation etiquette.

3.) Event Execution

During events, you will be providing support to hosting staff. This will require the ability to troubleshoot problems from afar, manage issues of varying levels of urgency, answering questions from hosts as needed, updating guest lists, providing updates on cancellations, and more. Essentially, you will be the main point of contact for hosts, and will ensure events run smoothly. You will also be in charge of processing potential matches at the end of the event.

When hosting, you will be responsible for event set-up and facilitation, tend to dater needs and concerns, and wrap-up and tear-down.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of Event Manager experience
  • Brand Ambassador experience is an asset
  • Outgoing & enthusiastic personality
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to think on your feet and adapt quickly
  • Exceptional written and communication skills
  • Able to work independently

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

  • French not required

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
