The Ministry of Corrections Policing and Public Safety is seeking a confident and positive role model for a temporary position with opportunity for extension to manage the overall operations of contingency living unit(s) at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre, in Saskatoon. The Ministry of Corrections Policing and Public Safety is responsible for providing a fair justice system that upholds the law and protects the rights of all individuals in Saskatchewan; promotes safe and secure communities; and provides legal and justice policy advice to assist government.
As Assistant Deputy Director of Programs and one of the key members of the Correction Division's management team, the successful candidate will provide leadership and direction with respect to program development and delivery, security management and human resources. The Ministry is seeking a highly motivated professional who can commit themselves to teamwork and collaboration. As the successful candidate, you will plan, develop, implement and evaluate programs, policies, procedures and other matters impacting the Centers' operations related to offender programs, integrated case management and custodial issues.
You will develop and maintain professional partnerships and relationships, provide integrated services with your client region which includes client families, provincial and federal agencies such as Health, Social Services, Mental Health, victims, police and RCMP services and First Nations Communities and their respective justice communities. As the Assistant Deputy Director or Programs you will develop inter-ministerial, inter-agency and community partnerships based on respect and collaborative responsibility.
To be considered for this position, you will have knowledge of The Correctional Services Act and Regulations, Corrections key challenges and strategies, policies, procedures and programs; knowledge of criminogenic factors and their relationship to offender case management, and, knowledge of human behaviours, interpersonal communications and counseling methodologies within an institutional corrections environment.
To qualify, you would typically have a degree in the social sciences or equivalent and supervisory experience in an institutional corrections environment.
