About Us
The Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan (PAS) is the provincial agency responsible for acquiring, preserving, and making available public and private records of significance to the history of the province, and providing records and information services to the Saskatchewan government.
The Information Technology Services (ITS) team is a small and friendly team responsible for the information technology services of the organization.
The Opportunity
The ITS unit of the PAS is seeking a term IT Analyst with strong technical, communication and problem-solving abilities to help deliver all aspects of information technology and support technical and strategic objectives of the PAS. The IT Analyst is required to perform advanced troubleshooting and problem solving for all applications, server, storage, network, security and desktop related incidents within PAS.
The Ideal Candidate
Will have thorough knowledge of:
- Enterprise storage technologies : administration/troubleshooting: CEPH, File Storages.
- Microsoft 365 suite including but not limited to MS O365 tenant, SharePoint, Defender, Entra, power automate, power apps, etc.
- Network/Security Architecture and Administration, configuration and setup, Active Directory, LAN/WAN troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Application Security: Risk and Vulnerability assessment tools and management.
- Enterprise Data Life Cycle Management - Backups, DR, capacity planning, tuning and performance monitoring.
- OS: Linux and Windows administration and troubleshooting.
- Cybersecurity: Maturity assessment and models, NIST framework.
- Cloud Technologies: MS Azure and other Enterprise Cloud platforms
- Will be responsible for Network, Security, VM and Storage (CEPH) Administration, day-to-day troubleshooting and maintenance, applying patches and security updates, software and hardware upgrades, backup, LAN/WAN maintenance, desktop support, inventory tracking, disposition, compliance to cybersecurity requirements, and developing and maintaining IT policies and procedures.
- Will demonstrate expertise in communicating technical and non-technical information verbally, visually, and in writing to diverse audiences, while educating colleagues and clients on IT matters, anticipating issues, and effectively liaising with both IT teams, management and vendors. Display a service-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills, collaborate seamlessly with IT personnel, exhibit independence, organization, and proactivity in achieving objectives, and maintain diplomacy and resilience in handling technical or interpersonal challenges.
The knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through the completion of a post-secondary (diploma or degree) in a computer science program. Supplemented by 2 years of relevant experience working in a similar role, a combination of years of experience and training will also be considered. A certification in ITIL/ITSM and or cybersecurity would be considered an asset.
Some travel using a CVA may be required, and a valid driver’s license is an asset.
You may also be required to lift/handle up to 20 kg of sensitive computer equipment occasionally.
