Job Posting for Early Childhood Educator at Grace Note Child Care Centre (2010) Ltd.

We are looking for an Early Childhood Educator to join our team for a 3-6 month term with potential to be hired on permanently if interested.

Shift: 8:30am-5:30pm, Monday-Friday

Start Date: September 3, 2024 * Tentative

Pay rate depends on ECE Classification Level & years of experience in the field

Grace Note is a reputable child care center located in Halifax. We offer quality care and early learning experiences to children 4 months-5 years of age, following a play-based, emergent curriculum. We have 5 classrooms:

  • Infant (4-18 months)
  • Junior Toddler (18-24 months)
  • Senior Toddler (2-3 years)
  • Junior Preschool (3-4 years)
  • Senior Preschool (4-5 years)

Our team consists of 11 educators, a support staff, a cook, and a director

Candidates must have:

  • Nova Scotia ECE Classification - preferred but not required.
  • First Aid & CPR Level C Certification
  • Clear Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Clear Child Abuse Registry Check

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing children with quality care
  • Implementing positive behaviour guidance
  • Planning and implementing activities to foster learning & development
  • Following a play-based, emergent curriculum
  • General cleaning & sanitizing (sweeping, mopping, laundry, wiping tables/counters/shelves)
  • Communicating with parent, families, and staff
  • Working as part of a team
  • Maintaining an organized classroom

Pay: $16.00-$28.78 per hour
