Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to providing high-quality meals in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to perfection, adhering to our restaurant's standards of quality and safety.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines during food handling and preparation.
  • Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service hours.
  • Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.
  • Participate in menu planning and development as needed.

Skills

  • Proven experience in a kitchen or food service environment, preferably as a cook or line cook.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations related to food handling.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
  • A passion for the culinary arts and a desire to learn new skills within the food industry.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $15.94-$23.13 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Flexible language requirement:

  • French not required

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • Cooking: 1 year (preferred)

Language:

  • English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Handler Certification (preferred)
  • Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
