Solutions Analysts
HEB has recently introduced a multi-year initiative to replace our legacy systems that will allow us to enhance our ability to serve a growing membership. We are looking for a Solutions Analyst to join our team to help enhance and support this undertaking. Reporting to the Manager of Business Architecture and Analysis, the Solutions Analyst is responsible for working with business users to gather and analyze requirements, to create system specifications and design documents for our development team. The Solutions Analyst is also responsible for supporting System Testing and User Acceptance Testing with business users.

In your first three months as a member of the team, you will:
- Learn about HEB Manitoba and the services we provide to our members
- Work with your peers to learn about HEB Manitoba’s business processes and systems
- Become familiar with the project structure, the software development lifecycle, software design, business and system analysis deliverables
- Get involved in the project and start analysis work
- Build relationships with HEB Manitoba’s business users and subject matter experts
Over the next year, your responsibilities will increase as you become a productive contributor to the team. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality are critical. You will play an integral role in implementing business and system changes by:
- Consulting with stakeholders to elicit requirements for software and process enhancements
- Analyzing, documenting, reviewing, and obtaining approval of business and solution requirements
- Working with the IS team (Developers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance Analysts and others) to recommend and deliver solutions that meet the needs of the organization and external stakeholders
- Leading and supporting business users through the User Acceptance Testing process
- Assisting with change management and related tasks to ensure the successful deployment of new solutions
Finally, as your domain knowledge increases, you will have the opportunity to engage in a leadership role on operational projects and strategic initiatives.
Your qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Post-secondary education in computer science or other related discipline
- 5 years as a System and/or Solutions Analyst
- Experience with large-scale projects involving ERP implementation, COTS implementation, and data migration
- Proven experience in analyzing data and writing SQL queries
- Experience in leading and facilitating cross-functional groups
Technical Skills:
- Requirements elicitation, facilitation, and interviewing skills
- Business requirements, functional requirements, data analysis, and solution design documentation
- Strong understanding of ETL processes and data workflows
- Documenting and designing requirements for data integration
- Collaborating with business analysts for data needs and integration solutions
- Application development methodologies and working with development teams
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Balancing tasks with competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong written and oral presentation skills for communication with multiple user levels and management
- Working knowledge of Business and Enterprise Architecture*
- Knowledge of pension benefits, disability and rehabilitation benefits, and group insurance benefits*
- Working knowledge of project management principles*
- · Data integration experience and working with Data Modeling tools*
