Role Description
Join Honda’s innovative team as we develop the Next Generation Monozukuri Plant! This pivotal role is crucial to our mission of driving sustainability and efficiency across our operations. Oversee the Power distribution design and infrastructure. Responsible for reviewing and checking designs that meet HCM’s standards. Responsible for scheduling and checking construction progress and budget control. Support construction installation matching engineering and drawings. Support startup and commissioning of the Electrical power system for the site. Responsibilities
- Communication with all stakeholders
- Schedule and planning of project work
- Providing updates to senior management
- Energy Management: Oversee the flow of energy within mechanical systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Design and Documentation: Create detailed mechanical designs and maintain clear documentation for compliance purposes.
- Commissioning and Handover: Ensure smooth commissioning and handover processes for completed projects
- Coordinating activities across multiple disciplines
- Maintain and report on project deliverables in the project management system
- Project Management: Oversee all stages of project management, including design, specification, installation, scheduling and budget control
- Project Oversight: Manage industrial building design or modification projects, ensuring they meet all technical specifications and standards
- Reviewing and approving design drawings, Code Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes and technical specifications, including BTSA
- Arc Flash rating calculation
- Fuse/breaker sizing and selection
- Electrical Coordination Studies
Requirements
- University Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years experience in Industrial building design
- Demonstrated involvement in large-scale project management.
- Solid understanding and application of building codes and technical specifications.
- Understand different manufacturing processes and how they relate to building and infrastructure
- Proficient Electrical Code Knowledge
- Electrical Drawing Creation using AutoCAD
- Specification writing and development
- Experience in supervising and managing project teams
Job-Related Must Haves
- Willing and able to travel internationally or in North America by possessing a Canadian passport or B1 Visa.
- Must have a valid G/G2 Driver’s License
- Willing and able to work weekends and or overtime sometimes on short notice.
- Willing and able to work shut-down periods.
- Willing and able to support occasional 2nd and or 3rd shifts.
Preferred Experience
- Building Automation Control (BAC) Network experience
- PLC and Networking experience
- Experience with electrical design and hard wiring
- Experience with high-voltage power
- Experience with Sub Stations Design and feeder distributions
- P. Eng or EIT
- Experience with Arc Flash Rating and Calculations
- Knowledge of fuse sizing and selection
- Experience managing Facilities building operation systems
- Skilled in single-line diagrams
