Accounting Clerk

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part time Accounting/Safety Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial/safety records and supporting various accounting & safety functions. This position requires proficiency in data entry and familiarity with accounting software, making it essential for the candidate to have a strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Outlook accounts for the office.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Utilize accounting software, Axon, for data entry and financial reporting and Work Hub & Axon for safety input.
• Maintain organized records of the accounts payable to insure that proper allocation to equipment is maintained and correct payments are made to suppliers.
• Ensure that the safety records for equipment and employees is up to date and in an organized manner. Workhub updated on a weekly basis for our coordinating safety team.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and improve accounting processes and safety records.
• Support month-end closing activities by preparing necessary reports and reconciliations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, with a strong understanding of financial services.
• Proficiency in computer data entry with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must be proficient in Outlook, Excel and Word Microsoft programs.
• Familiarity with accounting software Axon (trucking software) is an asset.
• Knowledge of accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes is essential.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within the team.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
