Kent Building Supplies will be hosting a job fair for the Halifax Area locations (Halifax Regional Municipality including: Halifax, Dartmouth and Lower Sackville).

Kent Halifax will be hosting a job fair for all locations in the HRM, including Halifax Bayers Lake, Dartmouth Crossing, Russell Lake, and Lower Sackville. We are looking for a number of positions including Department Managers, Contractor Sales (Outside), Sales Floor Associates, Gatehouse Associates, Lumber Yard Associates and Seasonal Contracts for various parts of our business.

Responsibilities:

• Drive sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge
• Clarify and understand customers’ needs and take them to the best solution(s) for their projects.
• Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions
• Take initiative and confidently direct customer interactions
• Produce quotes, material lists and follows up
• Demonstrate high standards of safety and customer service
• Resolve customer challenges quickly and efficiently.
• Continually learn about products and market conditions

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and team player
• Sales and customer service experience
• Possess a high level of attention to details
• Ability to lift 55 lbs.
• Ability to workdays/evening/weekends (rotating shifts)
• Ability to learn and operate the applicable computer system (D635) used to process orders
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent considered an asset
