We are looking for a website merchandising, marketing and social media intern to join our team to manage product content on our new e-commerce website. The intern will be responsible for product merchandising, managing our social media, and content creation and copywriting for store promotions. The ideal candidate is passionate about digital marketing, is detail oriented, a great team player, and has a passion for food, cooking, and/or healthy eating.
Responsibilities
E-Commerce
- Manage website content, ensuring product merchandising is organized and accurate.
- Update website with new product listings by writing descriptions, obtaining product information, and acquiring and/or creating digital assets (e.g. pictures).
- Coordinate with buyers to accurately capture products’ ingredients list, nutrition info, pack sizes, and country of origin.
- Upload website banners and weekly store promotions.
Social Media & Marketing Communications
- Develop and curate compelling content, including e-commerce banners, flyers, recipes, etc., to effectively drive sales and brand awareness.
- Coordinate with buyers to create weekly flyers for store promotions, including any applicable themes and occasions.
- Source digital assets to accurately display product information.
- Write copy for social media posts and other marketing materials.
- Use social media management tools to schedule and publish content on a regular basis.
- Analyze social media performance using relevant tools and metrics, and provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Maintain and champion the organization's brand identity across all materials and digital media platforms.
- Optimize advertising budgets to ensure cost-effective campaign performance.
Skills & Knowledge
- Recently graduated or in their 3rd/4th year pursuing a university/college degree in marketing, arts, communications, media, business, or related field.
- Experience with produce and grocery industry or interest and knowledge in food, cooking, and/or healthy eating is an asset.
- You are a keen marketing fanatic who loves to create and design. Self-starter who thrives from being given space to explore.
- Exceptionally strong communication skills, organization, and time management skills.
- Experience in graphic design and has a great eye for layout.
- Demonstrated experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Photoshop, etc.), MS Office, and Google Workspace.
- Experience with Wordpress is an asset.
