About the Role: As an integral part of our interdisciplinary team, you'll play a crucial role alongside our speech and language pathologists (SLP) in supporting communication delays. You will carry out treatment plans based on SLP goals, while implementing best practices in speech-language pathology. Your role extends beyond direct intervention; you'll empower families and Early Childhood Services programs with effective communication strategies. This position would primarily be providing services to partners sites in the northeast and northwest quadrants of Calgary. Candidate should be comfortable working in private homes as well as ECS program sites. We are looking for a full-time SLPA position. FTE is negotiable between 0.8 to 1.0.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and review background information regarding speech and language concerns for clients in our program.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions and therapy sessions under the supervision of an SLP.
  • Provide ongoing coaching for families and ECS programs on communication strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a speech therapy assistant, with preference for experience working with pediatric populations. A certificate or diploma in a therapy assistant program would be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with articulation and motor speech disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel to client locations.
  • Proficiency in technology tools like Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
