Qualifications
Hold a Secondary School Diploma and an Attestation of College Studies in Early Childhood Education or a diploma and an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority and have four (4) years of pertinent experience. We prioritize a DEC in Early Childhood Education.

Hold a Secondary School Diploma and an Attestation of Vocational Studies in Day Care Services or a diploma and an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority and have five (5) years of pertinent experience.
AND
Hold a certificate dated no more than three (3) years attesting to the successful completion of:
a standard first aid course of a minimum eight (8) -hour duration.
a refresher course of a minimum six (6)-hour duration updating the skills acquired in the course mentioned in subparagraph 1.
Other Requirements
Fluent in French & English
Ability to multitask and capacity to prioritize successfully and rapidly
Ability to work as part of a team
Must be involved with K Cycle activities and planning
Must also have experience working and supervising children in this age group.
Reliable, autonomous, organized and demonstrates sound judgment.
Skillful with children, needs to maintain nurturing communications with the families of the community.
May be required to use a computer and the necessary software to perform duties (can research, among other things, on the Internet to find activities and games that suit their group and the various events of the year).
Knowledge of social emotional learning (SEL) –an asset
Experience working with students with special needs, an asset
Knowledge of trauma informed practices, an asset
Experience working with students with high behavioral demands, an asset

Specific to the three hours in the morning in the 4-year-old kindergarten classroom:
The employee in this class of employment prepares, organizes, and participates in activities such as sporting, cultural, relaxing, and fun activities, both indoor and outdoor, according to the established schedule and in accordance with the intervention methods in order to pursue the overall development of children, taking into account their interests, needs, and the educational project of the school.
Helps children during transition time (clothing) as well as toileting.
Assists the teacher in helping children during daily activities.
Helps children to prepare and take their meals and snacks by ensuring that the rules of hygiene and decency are respected.
While building a caring relationship with children, assists the teacher in ensuring the supervision and safety of children in accordance with the rules of conduct, safety measures and recommendations from parents.
Assists the teacher in creating games and crafts adapted to the children’s needs.
May be called upon to participate in meetings aimed at developing an individual educational plan (IEP) in order to share observations and make pertinent suggestions concerning the child with special needs and applies the measures retained within the limits of his/her function.
Can assist the teacher in performing certain administrative tasks.
Specific To Pedagogical Days And Lunch
While building a caring relationship with children, ensures the supervision and safety of children in accordance with the rules of conduct, safety measures and recommendations of teacher and parents.
Organize thematic activities and outings for children in order to pursue the overall development of children taking into account their interests, needs and the educational project of the school.
