Reporting to the Coordinator, Ambulatory Surgical Care, the Dental Receptionist provides support to the outpatient dental clinics: scheduling appointments, processing billing and insurance claims, receiving payments for services and providing general clerical support for the department.

Regular Part-Time

Rate of Pay: $25.16 per hour - $26.98 per hour

Hours of Work: Up to 22.5 hours per week

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of Dental Receptionist Certificate or Dental Assistant Level 1
  • Experience as a Dental Receptionist preferred
  • Proficient Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Cerner, Electronic Patient Record, Workload Measurement
  • Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and ability to manage change
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills in a variety of situations
  • Demonstrated effective organizational skills involving time management
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s vision, purpose and values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
  • Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health’s current definition of being fully vaccinated
