The Role

The Jr. Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and running operational data for external lenders as well as internal business units. 


  • Reconciling and reporting on any rate buydown related to broker commission. 
  • Reconciling and reporting on any promotional compensation on a weekly basis 
  • Running monthly reports in regard to lender buydown remittances 
  • Reconciling and reporting on monthly buydown as a result of underwriting related errors 
  • Reconciling and remitting mortgage insurance for high ratio and transactional loans 
  • Working with the insurers to resolve discrepancies on their insurance portfolios. 
  • Managing Month/ Quarter/ Year closing process 
  • Managing daily bank reconciliations re commission/Merix/operating banks  
  • Collaborate with the Finance team in completing monthly balance sheet account reconciliation. 
  • Collaborate with the Finance team for any auditing conducted by third parties to ensure effective resolution and swift closure of auditing activities.  
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to Investigate variances in budgets, reporting, internal controls, and general accounting; deploy measures to resolve variances. 
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to monitor daily cash flow.  
  • Other ad hoc financial/operational reports as required. 

What You Bring To The Team 

  • Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • 1-3 years of experience in a financial analytics environment  
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance and/or equivalent 
  • Strong knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, functions, and formulas) 
  • Focus on detail and accuracy with respect to data integrity while working with large volumes of data.  
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  
  • Self-driven, motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.  
  • Knowledge of Accounting Systems 
  • Professional designation (CPA or working towards CPA) is considered an asset
