Accounts Payable Specialist (Full-time, 12-months contract, Admin)

We are seeking a detailed-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance Team. The candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling statements, and managing payment schedules. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is a must. Previous experience in Accounts Payable or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities:

· Facilitate the Accounts Payable function

· Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner and ensure all relevant documents are received

· Reconcile statements and resolve any discrepancies

· Communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders

· Assist with month-end closing processes

· Maintain accurate records of all transactions

· Ensure Accounts Payable Function follows GAP.

· Works collaboratively with members of the Finance Department to ensure financial processes are efficient and timely.

Qualifications:

· Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related filed, plus a minimum of 3 years related experience.

· Previous experience in a non-profit organization preferably in the social service industry will be considered an asset.

· A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a unionized environment would also be considered an asset.

· Ability to think strategically, relative to the future needs of the organization.

· Solid understanding and experience of Sage300 as well as superior computer skills.

· Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

· Ability to multi-task in a high paced, deadline oriented work environment.

· High level of confidentiality and professionalism.

· Understanding and appreciation of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Location: Head Office

Hours: 40 hours per week (9.00am-5.00pm)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Etobicoke, ON M8Z 2E4
