Shift Engineer

Moosehead Breweries Limited is Canada's last-major brewer still owned by Canadians. Headquartered in Saint John, New Brunswick, the company has been operated by the Oland family since it was established in 1867.

We have a career opportunity for a full-time Relief Shift Engineer in our manufacturing facility located in Saint John, New Brunswick. The primary role of the Relief Shift Engineer is to ensure optimum production operations by being responsible for our steam plant along with the plant's equipment and engineering systems.

Responsibilities

• Actively contributes to the "TEAM" and ensures safe, trouble-free operation of the plant and all work activities by working diligently to prevent and correct operational issues in compliance with applicable Acts, Codes, Regulations and Standards
• Ensures supply of steam, refrigeration, air and water is maintained at all times
• Monitors safety, process and quality parameters
• Detects, addresses, documents and communicates all potential equipment problems and safety issues with existing and new plant systems
• Performs required testing on equipment and systems to ensure all safety systems are fully functional at all times
• Actively participates in team meetings and collaborates between various departments, personnel and operators
• Must be able to work shift work, including nights and/or weekends; and required to be on call

Qualifications

• Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineer license with 3-5 years experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting steam boilers
• Compressed Gas Licence - Class M Refrigeration Maintainer and Fired Heating Licence with 3-5 years experience
• Completion of college CEGEP, vocational or technical training in Industrial Mechanics, Refrigeration, Millwright, Welder etc.
• Experience with refrigeration and /or combustion equipment
• Demonstrated ability to effectively complete tasks with minimal supervision in a fast-paced team environment
• Observant with a strong attention to detail and a natural sense of urgency
• Self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills
• An effective communicator, both written and oral
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
• Experience with control systems or CMMS Maintenance are considered an asset
• Preference will be given to individuals who possess dual certifications
